Your Small Group Planning Committee wishes to give a report to the church on the progress it has made to date and to share its future expectations. Our overall primary objective is to create a deeper sense of family among the fellowship of those associated with our church. We feel that small groups are the best way to achieve this goal.
Your Planning Committee members are Kenia Lugo, Daniel Lugo, Ann Luff, and George Mitchell. First, they reviewed the names and addresses of every church member and all of our visitors who attend regularly. They really don't want to leave anyone out. The next step was to geographically place each person in a small group neighborhood for ease of meeting together. They are now in the process of asking persons who live in these various geographical areas to serve as hosts and hostesses and to invite those who live nearby into their homes.
There was a host and hostesses meeting on January 17, where they will receive their neighborhood lists of those church members and friends in their areas and get ideas and materials to aid them in conducting these initial meetings. These initial meetings will be one-of-a kind with the main purpose being to generate friendship and fellowship among the group members and to identify various interest area ideas of the persons in attendance. This general information will then be collected and compiled to aid in identifying and organizing future small interest groups within the church.
Each of the hosts and hostesses who will be opening their homes will be calling you soon and inviting you to join them, giving you the date and time your neighborhood area's Small Group will be meeting. We are praying that you will graciously accept their invitation and take part in your neighborhood gathering so that we may grow more together as the family of God.
